We've Got a Store!

Not everything is completely set up, but take it for a whirl and let us know what you think! Give us suggestions if you don't see something you think you should.

We have plans to put all the ready-to-wear products online as well as to figure out a way of setting up the designs ... So much to do!

Welcome to our New Home!

TaggerWear has completed the transfer of our website to our new home on an e-commerce server with Bell Enterprises.

This means that we'll be able to put together an online store this year!

Rising Prices of Everything

As of July 1st, 2008, TaggerWear will be affecting a $5.00 increase to the base cost of all products. See the details of each style on our Suits page for the new base price.

It is unfortunate, but the rising cost of everything from thread to fabric and labour has made it impossible to continue to absorb the difference. This increase ends a three-year stay on our prices and our efforts to maintain the most economical price possible for our customers.

If the price of everything else returns to pre-2008 levels again, we will reduce our prices to reflect this. However, I don't hold out much hope on that score.

How will this affect our Fitting Trips in the Fall? Well, as of yet we are still planning on maintaining our tour of all the clubs across Ontario that we serve. Based on fuel prices in the Fall we may need to look at whether we can still individually book clubs or set up a central place (hotel) in each of the three sections and have you come to us.

We'll keep you posted with further news on the site; and look for our newsletter with some exciting news for new products for the fall.

TaggerWear is proud to launch a new line of clothes designed for the active person who wants quality, comfort, and custom for a fair price.

Included in our line of sportswear are Yoga pants, Capri length yoga pants, tank tops, and shorts.

We can produce these clothes in either an 88/12% blend of Cotton/Spandex, or in our 100% Polyester Cholorban fabric.

Yoga Pants and Tank Top

This summer, TaggerWear is proud to offer four new products to our customers: Yoga Pants in either full length or capri length, Tank Tops with racer backs, and Exercise Shorts.

These garments are most comfortable in a new Cotton/Spandex blend that we have purchased. This fabric, which is wonderfully soft and has a nice weight, is available in 12 colours.

For your club or team, we can produce all of these products in a custom combination of colours.

Colours available: Black, Royal Blue, Turquoise, Columbia Blue, Light Blue, Navy, Red, Orange, Pink, Purple, Light Pink, Neon Orange, Bright Gold, Nude, Dark Brown, White, Forest Green, Kelly Green, Teal, and Neon Lime.

We offer our clients show suits in either our Sport Back or our new Cross Back style.

Youth sizes (up to 30) are $40
Adult sizes (32-38) are $50
Plus sizes (40-48) are $60

For $40 a suit, you can put the sparkliest, most glittering fabric on the front you can think of, and even use a second fabric on the back at no extra cost!

You can also choose from our full range of fabrics in inventory; currently numbering at more than 300.

Despite this low price, we offer these suits with our standard full service deal – we'll come to your club to fit all your rec swimmers. We schedule our rec club fittings starting in February – once our competitive clubs have been shipped – and they are shipped in time for your end of year water show.

Beat the Changing Style Trap!

It’s happened again, our clients are telling us that a major swim suit manufacturer has changed their suit styles and sizes. Of course this happens on a semi-regular basis – why? Well, to sell more swimwear of course.

This mass-market ploy plays real havoc with clubs across the country. When you’re trying to maintain a colour and style across the team, it’s difficult when the colour, print, or style becomes discontinued by the manufacturer. Then everyone has to purchase new clothes to keep everyone the same.

This is a burden for club and parents alike.

We have a solution: Custom printed polyester fabric. This will save the club money and headache in the long run. The reason?

Custom printed fabric comes by the roll.
Each roll has 65 meters of fabric. You can get as many as 180 suits per roll, if most of your suits are smaller than size 30. That’s enough to last for years.
You can select the pattern and the colours you want.
The print and colours are digitally matched with each dye lot.
The design is stable and can be repeated from year to year.
Fabric is our 100% polyester Chloroban.

Coordinating Accessories Now Available

Silicone Swim Caps in Coordinating Colours!

We are now selling Silicone swim caps and can get them in about a dozen different colours.

So, if your club needs swim caps to match spacing suits, or to coordinate with show suits, let us know. We can offer competitive prices.

For Rec swimmers, instead of having expensive head pieces made, they can use a swim cap - we have some funky colours. Club pricing starts at $5 for solid colours and $8 for multi coloured caps.

Nose Clips are Necessary!

In addition to swim caps and swim suits, we now have nose clips. We can offer them to your club for $5 We also offer Speedo and TYR brand nose clips for $6.

Sewing Classes for Youth 10-14

Starting in July, TaggerWear will be offering classes to young people interested in the techniques of sewing stretch fabric garments.

Simple, easy to wear, stretch fabric is great for the summer. It wears easy and is colourful. The projects that students can work on are a pair of shorts, a tank top, or a swimsuit wrap.

The classes will be five days - Monday to Friday - and be kept small for maximum attention (max. 3). Each student will have their own machine to use along with all the tools and notions necessary. At the end of the course, the student can purchase the sewing machine they've learned on and continue sewing at home.

Students will learn how to measure themselves, make a custom pattern, cut and sew a basic garment. Students can use our patterns, or bring their own. We also have fabric for sale, but students can bring their own fabric. It must be stretch fabric and a pattern suitable for working with stretch fabric.

Each student will take home a custom pattern and a finished garment. It's a hands-on class but students are encouraged to take their own notes. Books and pencils will be provided.

Product Listing Reorganized

We've reorganized our website and update our prices.

On our Suits page we organized the styles into Competitive, Two Piece, Mens, Recreational, and Full Cover.

The Competitive suits show the back styles we have available for competitive cut swimsuits.

Two Piece swimsuits work on a mix and match basis now, for better selection.

We have a Designs page with some basic colour designs you can use with any of the Competitive styles of suits.

All TaggerWear customers are shipped!

We are please to announce that all fall orders for our customers have been completed on time, and even under budget in some cases.

With today's delivery to Queen's University Synchro, all of our clubs have now received their 2008 competitive suits. We still have some late-comers to complete, but these will be completed by the end of January, as scheduled.

It has been a tremendous year for us at TaggerWear, with the addition of 11 new clubs -- representing a net addition of over 250 swimmers to our client list. It has been a very busy sewing season and the last four months have seen some sleepless nights!

But now we're ready for the competitive season to begin! Look for us at the competitions this year. We're booked at the Eastern Regionals, the Central Regionals, and we are looking into being at Provincials and Provincial Trials.

Good luck to all our swimmers! May you have the best season yet!

TaggerWear has expanded our selection of sizes to now include Plus Sizes up to 4X in our Standard Sport Back swimsuit.

TaggerWear is now offering our fabric through a retail outlet -- Creative Styling -- in Westport, Ontario.

Just 20 minutes outside of Kingston, Ontario, Creative Styling is in the heart of the Rideau Lakes cottage and vacation paradise!

Easy to get to from the 401, Creative Styling is offering the full selection of our swimwear fabrics. Some of our fabric is on display at their store, and all fabric on our website may be ordered through them. Minimum quantities apply. Call for prices.

Thread Sales and Order Form Now Available

TaggerWear uses "Super Thread" in the construction of our swimwear. Super Thread is a Canadian-made product by Cansew known as Polyester 1200. Also commonly known as Wooly Nylon, it isn't nylon at all. Normally this wonderful thread is not available in stores in lots of colours.

TaggerWear is now selling cones in custom quantities of this thread. We normally wind cones of 500m, 750m, or 1,000m, but if you need less, we'll do it for you!

We also have the matching regular polyester thread by Cansew in spools of 2000m.

Our thread is also available retail through Creative Styling in Westport, ON -- 20 minutes from Kingston!

University Synchro Pics

The Canadian University Synchronized Swimming League is currently the only avenue for swimmers to continue the synchro swimming careers into the varsity level. Started only a few years ago, the league is growing every year.

Last year marked the first opportunity for TaggerWear to help out, with providing the University of Ottawa GeeGees Synchro Team. This year TaggerWear was invited to outfit two additional teams: Brock Universtiy Synchro and the Waterloo-Laurier University Novice and Varsity teams in addition to the UofO GeeGees.

A Word About Sizing

A new complete Sizing Guide is now available with the equivalent dress size and expected swimsuit size. Swimsuits stretch, so they fit differently than other clothing. The same swimsuit can fit a range of body shapes.

TaggerWear Now Accepts PayPal

TaggerWear can now accept orders over the Internet via email, and we can accept PayPal for payment.

What does that mean for you? Simply, that if you want to pay with a credit card, TaggerWear can now do that.

The process is very straight forward: Send us an email indicating the style, fabric choices, and size. If you've ordered from us before you will know if we made adjustments to your suit to make it fit perfectly. Include those changes too.

Next we will invoice you through PayPal. The invoice will arrive via email, with instructions on how to pay. Once your payment has been received, PayPal notifies us. We ship your order through PayPal as well, so you can track your order's where-abouts.

You get a receipt and a record of the transaction, with the added flexibility of paying with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

As expected, fabric that holds its shape, colour, and doesn't breakdown in chlorine is what everyone is after -- including the athletes.

Chlorine-Resistant Polyester Swimwear Fabric has arrived in Canada!

You asked for it, and now we’ve got it: A chlorine-resistant, 100% Polyester stretch swimwear fabric that lasts up to a year with daily use.

We’re very excited about Chloroban™. This product, by StretchTex International of Australia, is a premium swimwear fabric.

Not only does Chloroban™ withstand the punishment of wearing it in a pool every day, but it also provides you with 50 SPF UV protection! You can wear your Tagger swimwear to the beach, and stay protected too – even when wet.
